The field of earthquake engineering, of which the concept of earthquake isolation is a part, is one of the newest and most open areas of civil engineering, the world’s oldest engineering discipline. Being aware of this important feature of the field of earthquake engineering, TİS Technological Isolator Systems, besides producing creative, innovative and reliable solutions to various earthquake engineering problems, also conducts research and development studies in the field of earthquake engineering.
TİS aims to always advance the capacity and quality of the company in terms of its approach to engineering problems and innovative solutions, with the projects it will create and carry out in the field of R&D both within its own structure and with the support of domestic and foreign institutions. TİS, the academic career and studies of its engineers and consultants; It has the capacity to successfully carry out R&D projects and produce innovative projects with its facility, which has the capacity to produce high quality materials and products with different features, and a test unit that can perform tests in accordance with international standards.
Technoslide
The establishment of TİS Technological Isolator Systems was realized with the contributions of academic consultants who have worked worldwide in their field and the company’s first work was the development of Technoslide, the friction material, which is the key to being competitive and innovative. In collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, Technoslide was developed and patented after nearly 2 years of extensive and challenging tests. Technoslide provides higher performance in all respects than pure PTFE material, which is widely available in the market, with its chemical content and production methodology.
TİS Double Pendulum (TDP)
Although TİS Technological Isolator Systems started its activities with R & D studies in the field of earthquake engineering, it expanded its vision to the field of construction and transportation engineering and started to increase its product range to serve in this field.
In this context, after the development of the TDP product, it carried out the development of structural bearings mostly used in transportation structures such as bridges and viaducts, and went through similar stages with TDP, first completing the certification studies of TPB and then TSB products.
TİS Pot Bearing (TPB) ve TİS Spherical Bearing (TSB)

In this context, after the development of the TDP product, it carried out the development of structural bearings mostly used in transportation structures such as bridges and viaducts, and went through similar stages with TDP, first completing the certification studies of TPB and then TSB products.
Research Projects
Development of Variable Friction Surface Steel Earthquake Isolation Device (TÜBİTAK Project No: 3150962)
TİS Technological Isolator Systems carried out the first R & D project realized with the support and incentives of TÜBİTAK, the supporting organization, on the TDP product, for which the certification has been completed. Within the scope of this project, it is aimed to develop a higher performance and economical device that will have adaptive friction and energy absorption characteristics according to the target compared to TDP, which is a standard product in terms of working principles and performance. The 2-year project was completed in June 2018.
SERA European Union Project (Project No: INFRAIA-01-2016-2017)
GREENHOUSE (Seismology and Earthquake Engineering Research Infrastructure Alliance for Europe) project, Middle East Technical University from Turkey, Italy, from the University of Pavia and the United States from Washington University is carried out jointly by the European Union-funded research project. TİS Technological Isolator Systems have also become one of the stakeholders of this project with its products and standard products developed within the scope of the R&D project. Within the scope of the project, various advanced performance tests of the products we have and are developing were carried out in the EUCENTRE Laboratory in Pavia, Italy. Within the scope of the project, “Pendulum Type Earthquake Isolation Unit with Variable Behavior Friction” development studies were carried out. The one-year project was completed in 2018.
Development of an Energy Absorbing Earthquake Cell in Buildings (TÜBİTAK Project No: 5170054)
TİS Technological Isolator Systems continues its R&D studies in the field of innovative derem engineering with the TÜBİTAK project jointly carried out with the Middle East Technical University. Within the scope of the project, an earthquake cell has been developed in building-type structures to trap this damage to the areas where permanent damage is expected during the earthquake and prevent the other parts of the building from being damaged by completely absorbing the earthquake energy. The project involves the concept creation, design, prototyping and testing of the devices, and implementation and testing in a real framework. The 2-year project was completed in April 2020.
