Nusretiye Clock Tower (or Tophane Clock Tower) is a historical clock tower that remained from Ottoman Empire. The construction of the clock tower was completed in 1868. This historic structure has been renovated in the scope of Galata Port Project. The leaned tower has been carried and adjusted by the hydraulic jacks while a new foundation was constructed underneath the tower. After this, TDP base isolation devices have been installed on the new foundation and the clock tower is supported by these devices, allowing seismic protection of the cultural heritage. The seismic isolators have been designed, manufactured, tested and installed by TİS Teknolojik İzolatör Sistemleri A.Ş. Information about the project and isolation system is presented at the table below.
